Q. What type of club is the Urbana Golf & Country Club?

A. Full-service, private country club, with outstanding golf, tennis, swimming, and dining facilities plus active and diversified social programs.

Q. What is the average age of members?

A. The Urbana Golf & Country Club has a diverse mix in ages ranging from the 20's to the 90's.

Q: What type of club is the Urbana Golf & Country Club?

A.  The UGCC is a full-service, member-owned, private country club with full amenities ranging from fine dining to an outstanding golf course; just a segment of the wonderful facilities that are available to members.

Q: Does full-service mean more members and crowded conditions?

A.  The key ratio here is the number of members per hole of golf.  Our golf membership, which includes complete usage of the all our facilities is restricted to 400 (200 per 18 holes).  It is important to note that in a club controlled by the members, the number of members may only be changed with the approval of the membership.

Q: Is it more desirable to join a "mature" club like UGCC?

A: Clearly a club whose members have weathered any challenging transition processes, whether it is from capitol improvements or year-end assessments, a mature club like UGCC offers a more stable and predictable situation.  Even though change is as much a part of club operations as in life in general, those considering membership should be able to concentrate on enjoyment of club facilities and programs and not on financial uncertainty.

Q: How long is the membership application process?

A: Each membership application must be passed by the Board of Directors and be posted in the clubhouse for at least 10 days.  Typically, it takes no more than three weeks for your application to be processed.

Q: I don't know anyone at the club, can I still join?

A: UGCC member applicants do require a sponsor, and if you are new to the UGCC, the Membership Committee would be happy to introduce you to the club.

Q: What types of membership are offered at the UGCC?

A: The Urbana Golf & Country Club offers many types of membership opportunities ranging from those who simply wish to enjoy the fine dining and atmosphere offered in our Member Grille, to those who prefer to experience to full range of a country club experience: fine dining, excellent tennis programs, swimming and pool activity, and certainly our outstanding golf course and golf programs.
